Welcome to The Sewing Studio Johannesburg

For as long as I can remember, I have dreamed of creating a dedicated space where I could share my passion for sewing and fashion with others. After many years in the fashion industry, working in garment production, alongside designers during Fashion Week, and lecturing fashion design, garment construction, and pattern making at a tertiary level, I have finally taken the leap to make that dream a reality.

The Sewing Studio Johannesburg is a place where creativity, craftsmanship, and quality come together. Whether you’re using a sewing machine for the very first time or looking to refine your skills, my goal is to help every student build confidence, develop professional techniques, and experience the joy of creating beautifully made garments.

Behind the scenes, my husband, Adam, and I have spent the past two years building our own PDF pattern company. Together, we are the team behind The Sewing Studio Johannesburg. While I focus on teaching and developing our sewing and pattern-making courses, Adam brings everything to life through his graphic design, pattern digitising, and the many technical aspects that help keep our studio and business running.

In addition to our sewing school, The Sewing Studio Johannesburg will also feature a carefully curated retail space showcasing Mòi Hats & Clothing. I will also be offering a made-to-measure service for clients looking for beautifully crafted, custom-made garments, including bridal wear, occasion wear, and bespoke clothing designed specifically for you. Please note that we do not offer alteration services.

We are excited to welcome you to our new studio at 45 Chester Road Parkwood Johannesburg, with doors officially opening on 11 August.
