Course Details

Join us for a beginner-friendly, one-session garment-making workshop and create your own Zero Waste Skirt, a comfortable and versatile Zero Waste Skirt.

You’ll learn how the skirt’s unique band and drawstring construction works, beginning as a flat rectangular garment and gathering into a wearable skirt when the drawstrings are pulled.

During the workshop, you’ll cut and construct the skirt, create its adjustable drawstring waistband and complete it with neat, professional finishes.

You’ll leave with your own handmade Zero Wase Skirt, ready to wear.

What You’ll Learn

During this workshop, you’ll learn how to:

  • Understand the construction of a Zero Waste Skirt
  • Measure and cut the skirt panel
  • Construct the skirt
  • Create the waistband bands and channels
  • Make and insert the drawstring ties
  • Create an adjustable gathered waist
  • Sew clean and durable seam finishes
  • Use professional pressing and finishing techniques
  • Complete a wearable garment in one session
